Scotland Gifts UK opened its first store in the USA in August, 2000 at Jack London Square, Oakland, California, followed by a second store at the Crocker Galleria in San Francisco
JACK LONDON SQUARE
Named after the world-famous author, Jack London, who lived in the city of Oakland in the late 1800s, Jack London Square has become a well-loved and popular destination for both locals and visitors.
Jack London is best known for the novels he wrote about the Alaskan wilderness such as, The Call of the Wild, White Fang and The Son of the Wolf. If you are interested in the history of the region, the Jack London Museum, along with the Oakland Museum of California, Ebony Museum and the Museum of Children's Art, are all conveniently located in or around Jack London Square.
A unique National Historical Landmark, Roosevelt's USS Potomac or "The Floating White House" remains at the north end of Jack London Square.
CROCKER GALLERIA
Located in the heart of the financial district at 50 Post, San Francisco, the Crocker Galleria is located close to the Union Square area and is very much the place to eat shop and get things done.
